Do We Listen?

Isaiah 6:9 “And He said “Go, and tell this people: Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.”
As humans, we forget God is righteous and He wants a relationship with us. What does this mean? He wants to love us as no one has ever loved us. Our spiritual being is yearning for something more than we get from this life. We don’t know where to find the missing link. And we cannot get the love we need from the world; we search for love in the wrong places. Deuteronomy 31:6, NASB states, “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.” Father God has planted a yearning in our Spirit to seek Him, which comes from His “pure” love for man. Father God is present; listen to his “quiet voice” in our Spirit. Yet, a condition must be met first: you turn off noise distractions around you. We can hear God’s voice once we tune into the surrounding quietness.

Do we listen to Almighty God? I tend to think not. We don’t stop long enough to listen to Father God when we ask Him to answer our concerns or prayers. I have often not heard and found myself in a fix that wasn’t God’s best. But now I listen and don’t move until I have answers from my Lord and Savior. If we don’t get an immediate answer, we move on our flesh and make mistakes, which mess up our lives.
Suppose we stop and listen to the voice inside our being. Then, test it against the word of God by saying a Scripture and praying that the right words will come from the Father while we are silent and reverent of His being. In that case, we will hear the “still small voice” (2 Kings 19:12) of Father God, who loves us. Once we truly listen, the understanding will come with a valid answer. And once we perceive the Word from Jesus, the Son of God, through His Holy Spirit, we are on the true path of righteousness. But if you are not a believer, then you will not receive the Word from God but from the enemy, who is Satan. Today, look to Jesus for answers and seek salvation if you are not a believer.
