Flames of Lies

“And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself.” (James 3:6, NLT)

When we envision fire, we picture a vibrant, searing gas that radiates intense heat, with blue flames showing the highest temperatures. But what does it mean to have a fire within a person?

The Holy Spirit, better known in Hebrew as the Ruach HaKodesh, is the blue flame that dwells in those who receive salvation. Suppose a person has not claimed with their mouth—that Yeshua is their Lord and Savior—and repented of their sin. Then, they don’t have the Holy Spirit in them.

The Holy Spirit is the third part of the Triune Godhead. His empathy for others leaves him exposed and tender. Engaging in prayer and studying the Bible can become more profound when you are in tune with your body, as it enhances your ability to feel the vibrant presence of the Holy Spirit igniting within you as you share the truth.

What is truth? Truth is Yeshua/Jesus. When He was born on Earth, He brought the truth. From birth through death and resurrection, Yeshua bore witness to the truth. He now sits on the right hand of the throne of Father God with His Father.

Your lies show a lack of truth within you, making you akin to Satan, the Father of Lies, according to scripture.

“You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44, NIV)

People become corrupt when they deceive others for their amusement, showing no consideration for the feelings or well-being of those around them. They acted with cruel intent, aiming to harm and deceive. A powerful verse in the Bible says,

“God is a just judge, and God is angry with the wicked every day.” (Psalm 7:11)

El Elyon’s fury is a daily tempest, a relentless storm aimed at the wicked. We were born into a sinful world, and people have to choose to either be godly with the love of Jesus Christ or the hate of Satan. Who do you choose?
