Moments at the Cross

Messiah Yeshua had been scorned, mocked, beaten, and suffered for all humankind’s sins. His sacrifice is not limited to a specific group or time but is universal, reaching all of us. Messiah Yeshua also suffered the grief of temptation by Satan during His forty-day excursion to the wilderness. The wilderness journey we all take is a wilderness moment where we are thirsty and poor in Spirit, and only Almighty God can help us through the weariness in our bodies and minds. The wilderness experience tests the soul and Spirit to become trustworthy and mighty even in weakness. God said you are strong when you are weak. You must be strong in the face of sickness, death, loss of a job or family, and suicidal thoughts that may have permeated from the devil and his minions to your mind. When humanity looks to Messiah Yeshua on the cross, they see every sin that man will commit in the entire universe until the end of time. “Crucifixion was an ancient execution method, in which the criminal’s hands and feet were bound or nailed to a wooden, cross-like structure. It was a capital punishment reserved for slaves, traitors,” heretics,” and usually the worst of criminals. It became widespread during the reign of Alexander The Great, but it remains in occasional use in some countries.” Even in our modern day, people are crucified.

Remember why Jesus Christ died on the cross for our wretched sins, and let this be a constant reminder to be prayerful, loving, and kind to each other. These virtues are not just suggestions, but they are the essence of our faith. Let us be inspired by the scripture, Matthew 4:1-11, and let it motivate us to embody these virtues daily.
